Year 3 trip to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park

Today Year 3 had the most amazing day!

They were able to walk around the entire park which was tiring but definitely worth it to see all the amazing animals.

Year 3 were very excited and all had animals which they were looking forward to seeing the most. Mrs Britton was very excited to see the Polar Bears and they blew everyone away as they were so majestic and large!

Whilst walking through the South American section the animals were not enclosed, so they came close up to the class which was very exciting!

Everyone had a fabulous day, especially Mrs Britton when she saw the polar bears!

Year 3 Art Day

Last week Year 3 were joined by a local artist 'Jeffrey Andrews' for a whole day of Art. They began looking at mini art based on the book 'The Minpins' beginning with the design and creation of their own mini book. They then made a peg doll Minpin, designing the outfit and adding arms, hair and accessories.

Later in the day, the whole class worked together to create a giant Rainforest tree based on the book 'The Great Kapok tree', they all added to the tree and created leaves and animals.

We all had a fabulous day and Jeffrey will be back next week to take pictures of our finished Kapok Tree for his website which is very exciting!

Year 3/4 - Easter egg hunt

Today Year 3 and 4 had very exciting news!!!

Without them knowing Miss Hutson and Mrs Britton had written to the The Easter Bunny and asked him to give a treat to year 3 and 4 as they had been working so hard. The Easter Bunny replied to Year 3 and 4 with a letter to say, after checking their work and speaking with Mrs Midgley, he thought they deserved an Easter Egg hunt.

We all had lots of fun running around trying to find our eggs.

Thank you Easter Bunny x

Year 3 - Our bodies - Bones

Today Year 3 showed their learning from the last session by labelling all of the main bones in the body and placing these in the correct place on their human skeletons.

Year 3 - Hand to mouth

Today the children were able to take part in their Hand to mouth journey 'Journey into Creation'.

They visited each station looking at the creations made by God on that day, for example on Day 1 he separated light from dark and on Day 6 he created man and animals. They then completed an activity at each station such as planting cress.

Year 3 - Plants (Seed dispersal)

Today we completed our 'Plants' topic by looking at the different ways in which seed dispersal takes place. We created an action for each in order to help us remember them.

Here is a short video of the children demonstrating each action.
